PLANT DESCRIPTION
A tall perennial reed grows up to 6 meters in height. The leaves are alternate, 30-60 cm long and 2-6 cm broad with a tapered tip, grey-green, and have a hairy tuft at the base. Flowers are upright, feathery plumes 40-60 cm long, but the seeds are rarely fertile. Instead, it mostly reproduces vegetatively, by underground rhizomes.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated pitta, inflammations, erysipelas, skin diseases, oligospermia, cystitis, disuria and often used for increasing breast milk. It is included in trina panchamoola gana in Ayurveda.
Useful part    :    Root.
