*Vaidyaratnam Lakshmanarishtam*
लक्ष्मणायाः पलशतं चतुद्रोऀणे जले पचेत्
पादशेषे कषायेऽस्मिन् क्षिपेत् गुडतुलाद्वयम्
धातकीं षोडशपलां मुस्तकं मधुकं बलाम्
फलत्रयं निशाद्वन्द्वं जीरकं चन्दनद्वयम्
अजमोदां यवानीं च बिल्वं च पलमानतः
मासादूध्वऀ तु सिध्द्रोऽयमरिष्टः स्त्रीगदापहः ।।
*Lakshmanarishtam Uses*:-
It is useful in treating menorrhagia, metrorrhagia, irregular periods and heavy periods.
*Lakshmanarishtam Ingredients, Method of Preparation* :
Lakshmana – Annona muricata Linn. / Ipomoea sepiaria – 4.8 kg
It is added with 49.152 liters of water, boiled and reduced to 12.288 liters, filtered.
To this water decoction, following ingredients are added.
Jaggery – 9.6 kg
Dhataki – Woodfordia fruticosa – 768 grams
48 grams each of
Musta – Cyperus rotundus
Madhuka – Madhuca longifolia
Bala – Sida cordifolia
Phalatraya – Triphala – Haritaki, Vibhitaki and Amla
Nisha – Turmeric
Daruharidra – Tree turmeric – Berberis aristata
Jeeraka – Cumin seeds
Chandana – Sandalwood
Raktachandana – Pterocarpus marsupium
Ajamoda – Celery
Yavani – Bishop’s weed
Bilva – Aegle marmelos
All the ingredients are kept closed in an air tight container for 1 month, then filtered.
