PLANT DESCRIPTION
A small annual or biennial herb grows up to 1 meter in height. Leaves simple, alternate, ovate or rhomboid, acute or acuminate and dark brown colored. Flowers brownish, small, in terminal or sub terminal spikes. Fruits very small ovoid, covered with persistent calyx. Seeds 1-3 very small and black.

MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pitta, constipation, urinary retention, edema, anemia, reduced eye sight, menorrhagia, leucorrhea, and general weakness. Plant as a whole is used as a vegetable.
